About this settlement

SPS Technologies Fire Settlement (2026)

Status: Live (claims open)

Summary & Commentary

In February 2025, a fire broke out at the SPS Technologies facility in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Parts of Abington Township were told to shelter in place and some residents were asked to evacuate voluntarily. The lawsuit claims that nearby people and businesses lost wages and profits and had to clean or repair property because of the fire.

SPS Technologies, LLC and its parent company, Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC), deny any wrongdoing but agreed to a $5,000,000 settlement fund. It pays documented business losses, lost wages and property damage, and people who do not qualify for those categories can still claim a share of the residual fund without any documentation.
